Okay, let’s clear it up straight away. I know that the Lowry Theatre’s in Salford, strictly speaking, but who actually types “Salford wedding venue” into Google?
The Lowry Theatre is an amazing wedding venue, simple as that. It’s like nowhere else. And, depending on which parts you choose for your wedding day, it’s amazingly different too. So in this selection of images you’ll see ceremonies in different rooms, for instance.
The modernity of the interior, the big bright slabs of colour everywhere, that slick metal exterior – all help to make it unique. The foyer goes up and up forever .. you can use the Gallery for portraits .. there’s glass everywhere … there are the Quays right outside, with the Lowry Bridge, Media City and Imperial War Museum providing the most amazing backdrop.
And then there’s the Compass Room. Unless you’ve been to a wedding at the Lowry, it’s unlikely you’ve come across the Compass Room before. It’s tucked away in the farthest corner of the building, a special and hidden secret gem. Once more, it’s that view that makes it so wonderful. Almost a full panorama across the Ship Canal, which changes throughout the day as the sun sets, dusk settles and the lights come on in the buildings all around. Magical.
Here’s why the place is so splendid.
